"When you need to stop an asteroid, you get Superman. When you need to solve a mystery, you call Batman. But when you need to end a war, you get Wonder Woman."
"At LeakyCon, a young lady asked me how I dealt with bullying. I wasn’t able to give her a very good answer, which troubles me. Well, there were lots of shouts of “It gets better” and “Stay strong” and “We love you”. But when I put myself back in time to when I was being bullied, none of those things would’ve helped me. Yes, absolutely it does get better. But when you are being physically and psychologically tortured, it is difficult to remove yourself from the pressingness of the moment at hand. Here’s how I dealt with bullying: I cried, I hated myself, I hated my life. I didn’t deal with it, I survived it, but I never dealt with it. So here are two tips from someone with lots of experience. 1: It’s not about you, it has nothing to do with you, it’s about the assholes doing it to you. 2: Your job is not to deal with it, your job is to survive it, which you CAN do because it WILL end. And then yes, it will get better."
My last year of University. My last year of going insane of whether or not a class will be available , buying over priced textbooks , careless project partners, cramming material in my head during exam week, and not to mention my last year of asking my self whether or not I made the right choices. For example changing my major after spending two and a half years of studying Business Management. Do I like the major I switched to? Of course I do , it’s TV and Radio! I LOVE TV AND RADIO. Will I find a job working with what I’m studying. Of course not! What am I talking about? Well I spent all morning trying to find a place to intern at for my internship class. So far , no LUCK! Actually, What is TV and Radio anyways? I kept asking myself that all morning. What have I studied so far that I could put into practice? So far I studied all kinds of media( news paper , book, radio, Tv, ect.) and how it effects society. One of my classes was learning how to write in news paper / journalism style ( which I was really bad at). My favorite class was audio and video editing where we got to make a short film. Had an intro to cinema class ( one of my favorite! we got to watch a lot of different movies and musicals) and learning about the process of creating films and people involved in the process and the description of their tasks, and got introduced to the different types and genres of films. Also learning the shots and angles of film shootings. Took the Fundamentals of Acting class in which I learned some basic theatre acting tricks and techniques. My intro to TV and Radio class I got to host my very own radio show ( was quite fun) , and learned how to operate all kinds of equipments used in a TV and Radio studio . Thats all I could think of right now of the things I learned through out the years. Now, where will I be able to work? Here, in Kuwait. Where? The local TV stations and Radio stations only accept people with minimum of 3 year experience and not to mention the facts that they don’t take interns in.
